What can you make when it Breaks?

Not long ago, I accidentally broke one of my favorite fused glass vases. I was heartbroken—how could I throw away something so beautiful? Fused glass has a way of capturing not just light, but little pieces of your soul. So instead of mourning the break, I asked myself: What kind of magic could I create from the shards?

I didn’t just make one piece of art from the broken vase—I made several. The first, a stunning glass stand. I added some clear glass, sandblasted it for a soft, matte texture, then draped it into a graceful shape. Now it’s not just art—it’s a pedestal for showcasing other beautiful glass pieces. From fragments to function… and still full of heart.

After the stand, the magic kept flowing. One of my favorite pieces to come from the broken vase is this gorgeous sconce. I absolutely love how it turned out—the iridized glass adds just the right touch of sparkle, dancing beautifully against the rich blue background. And the texture? Simply fabulous. It’s one of those pieces that glows—photos just can’t capture its full charm. In the same spirit—and using the same glass—I also created two matching votives. I adore them as a set, but they’re just as lovely on their own. From one broken vase… came a whole collection of light. ✨💙

I also crafted two smaller fused glass treasures from the remnants. One is a sweet little fused glass bear—casted with care, capturing a soft, sculptural charm. The other is a small dish that carries the same blue glass and textured detail found in the other pieces. Each piece holds a bit of the original vase’s spirit, transformed into something completely new—proof that even broken glass can tell a beautiful story.

From one broken vase came an unexpected journey of creativity. What started as a shattered favorite transformed into a full collection—each piece with its own spirit, yet all connected by color, texture, and heart. It began with a graceful stand, sandblasted and draped, now perfect for displaying other glass art. Then came a glowing sconce, a pair of sparkling votives, a sweet cast glass bear, and a textured dish made with that same beautiful blue glass. Each creation carries a piece of the original, reimagined with care and intention. This collection reminds me that beauty isn’t just in perfection—it’s in transformation. 💙✨

If one of these pieces speaks to you, they’re available to bring a little light and story into your space.
