We’ve been to Westcliffe several times

So we’ve been to Westcliffe several times, but I haven’t shown you the pictures. Here are some of my favorite photos from our trips to my little piece of heaven. The first group should be no surprise – flowers. Some were planted and some are wild. BTW when I say planted, I mean last year we threw the seeds on the ground and Dan watered them.

Yes, I realize these are flowers too, but these are Rocky Mountain Bee Plants and they are one of my favorite flowers in Colorado! I just find them fascinating.

Yes, I realize Thistles are weeds but I love them. We were driving down one of our favorite roads in Westcliffe and there were fields of them. I just think they are so pretty.

We also drove down a road we’ve never been on before and wow was it pretty. We weren’t sure if we were going to need to turn around or if it came out. We were lucky I guess, it went straight through. Yes that’s another field of thistles.

I have always liked graveyards and Silvercliff has two very nice ones. Between the two graveyards were some beautiful Rocky Mountain Bee plants so I just had to include them as well.

Fourteen months after it was started our deck is finally complete!! I love it. Just today I went out and sat with my face turned towards the sun and just enjoyed the Colorado mountain air! How I love this beautiful land.

Ironically not long after the deck was finished, we caught a big bob cat checking it out. We also haven’t had any real issues with bears, but we caught this bear (it’s either a bear or a big foot) and when we went back down our hummingbird feeders were empty and our cameras were down. Needless to say no more feeders unless we are there and it’s daytime. Speaking of hummingbirds, just a couple shots of them as well. and of course, some deer, the baby still has its spots.

We also went to the car show earlier this month and had lunch with friends. I love how we have more friends in Westcliffe than we do in Colorado Springs.

I love Colorado and I especially love Westcliffe. I’ll end this post with some more flowers of course. These little flowers are everywhere in Colorado right now, I call them Aspen Daisys but I’m not sure if that’s their real name.
