Westcliffe, Colorado

I know ya’ll are probably bored with my posts of Westcliffe, but I never do. We love it. On our way over Hardscrabble pass. The trees were all laden with snow, it was so beautiful. We also saw some big horn sheep. On the way home we saw some too. I think they just love that area. I love Colorado but when we drive through Hardscrabble and see the mountains, it truly brings tears to my eyes and the biggest smile to my face.

It’s so funny we have such a routine. We go by the bakery, then the little store in town, then we drive by the bluff, and this time we went to a friend’s house. Then we went by our properties. The first 3 pictures are of our Arapahoe property, doesn’t it have the most extraordinary views?

Then we drove over to Ute property. It’s funny we drive around because we love the mountains and the animals. we didn’t see many deer then we drove by the property and about 1/2 mile past our property did we see this amazing herd of deer. Plus, you can see the Wet Mountains in the background. God I so love Westcliffe!

We stayed in the Lamp Post Inn. We love this place, it’s so homey, and the view is fabulous. We got up and watched the sunrise. I love the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, they are phenomenal.

After we watched the sunrise, we went to Willy’s for Breakfast. Nicky is the best waitress, and the food is delicious! Then we drove around some more through Rosita, by the properties, and of course through town. We love the town deer.

I’m not sure when we’ll get a chance to go back. Westcliffe brings me such joy and peace. I can’t wait until I retire, and we can move there forever.
