I wrote a couple of posts a while back about two stained glass classes I took with my good friend Lela. One was Lead and the other was Foil.
Lela was so good at stained glass she made one for her mom. When she came over to my home show in addition to ornaments we took a few of my tiny screen prints and foiled them. I’m not as good as Lela but I do enjoy it. Mine are on the left and Lela’s are on the right. You can see hers are much smoother than mine.
Recently I went over to Lela’s house and we had a little stained glass party. Again Lela’s is much better but I won’t get better without practice. Plus, it’s so fun spending time with her. The first two are Lela’s. The second group is mine.
Here are the finished pieces. We didn’t patina them but I think they turned out OK. One of these days I want to make a stained glass lamp but I have to get better at it.
