Side trip to Burano Italy

Written by Karen × June 27, 2018

While I was on Murano (See the DYK) I decided to go to the island of Burano. It’s a small island only about 30 minutes away from Murano with very colorful houses. It started as a fishing village and has a museum of lace!

Even though Burano is known for lace there are also some glass shops. I’m sure you are thinking with all the glass on Murano I’d pass them by, but nope I went in and checked them out. Very simple pieces not really comparing with the fantastic shops on Murano.

I did like the colorful houses. So pretty and welcoming; that being said I also loved the old rustic buildings of Murano. I just felt such in awe when I walked the streets of Murano.

If you want to see my fused glass work please refer to my website Elegant Fused Glass by Karen. If you get a chance, check out all my sites, Fused Glass by Karen, My Etsy store, my Art fire Store, my Pinterest, and Elegant Fused Glass by Karen youtube. If you would like to stay abreast of what I’m up-to and learn a little more about jewelry, check out our newsletter. It is published the last day of each month.

Keeping my Kiln warm,

Karen

My name is Karen and I create each piece of Fused Glass jewelry and gallery art in my home studio in Colorado Springs, Colorado. My family is intricately involved in the process, my daughter Sky helps me with my shows and my husband built the website. My wish is to have others enjoy my fused glass jewelry and art pieces as much as I do.
