I did it, I screen printed the serenity prayer on fused glass. It took me forever but Isn’t she beautiful. The first one didn’t turn out because white isn’t strong enough to stand up to the background. I wish it was because the white against the aventurine blue was beautiful.
With this one I went a lighter Caribbean blue with iridized fused glass. I also put a strip of aventurine blue at the top. I tried various powder colors, but they were all too light so I went with black powder.
Then to give it a bit more sparkle I also added silver mica. I really love it.
I added brass hangers (fired in) and then a brass chain (I’ll cut to the size she wants) so she could hang it. I love both copper and brass because they hold up to the high temperature of a kiln firing.
This was a custom order for a friend of mine but, if Ann doesn’t want it, I think I’ll have to keep it. 🙂
