Saw Belt and Grommet Replacement

When I was cutting some glass my saw made a odd sound and stop spinning. We opened up the saw and you can see the belt is broke. I like to write posts about my equipment issues because it helps my customers to know there is more to creating glass than just having fun.

While Dan was changing out the belt he realized the blue grommet was showing it’s bearings so we had to wait to get the new grommet. The first picture you can see the bearings in the grommet which means it needs to be replaced. I had to order a new grommet and when we got the new grommet Dan changed it out really quickly. Luckily, the orange grommets are all fine.

After Dan put on the new blue grommet he put the belt on and then the cover.

All fixed, Dan is so quick runs like a dream now. I’m not sure if you can see the blade spinning. I also put the cover on, it’s a bit worse for wear but I always keep it on.

I like to show when and how I fix my glass equipment for two reasons, I told you the one reason in my first paragraph. Additionally, the second reason is to track how often I replace my relays, belts, grommets, blades, etc.
