I love taking fused glass classes from amazing teachers like Bob Leatherbarrow, Tanya Viet, Amanda Taylor, etc. I love learning their techniques and meeting other glass artists that love fused glass as much as I do. Another thing I like doing is buying their fused glass artwork.
This piece is a fused glass pendant I got from Tanya. She gave each person in her boot camp class a piece.
I bought this piece from Bob, I love it. I bought it before I took the class where I learned how to make this spectacular technique. It’s an amazing piece of art!
This piece I bought from Amanda. It’s such a wonderful piece because it’s both beautiful and functional. I love glass and I love unique pieces. I really love supporting great fused glass artists by not only taking their classes but by buying their art work.
I’ve talked about Mark Hufford a several times. Mark is a fused glass painter like Shelley. I haven’t taken a class from him yet, albeit I have watched many of his videos. Since he makes a lot of samples he wanted to sell a few of them and I lucked out and was able to get two of my favorites. I also bought this pendant from him last year! The tiger is a spoon that he painted and the bowl is handpainted bees. I have the bee tutorial and I plan to order the the tiger tutorial as well. Mark and Shelley have been painters for over 20 years! It will take forever for me to get as good as them but I’m going to try.
Hopefully Shelley will do the same and I’ll get one of hers too!
As a Fused glass artist I think it’s important to support other fused glass artists. Because to me it’s all about the Glass!!
