On the way to Westcliffe, CO

For those of you who follow my newsletters and posts, you know I love Westcliffe Colorado. We try to go every month and each time we go we try to do something new each time we go. This month when we went to Westcliffe we took a side trip to Bishop’s castle. If you google Bishop’s castle you will find out he’s been building it for nearly 60 years. It’s still an active work site. I took a lot of pictures from the outside – all around it actually.

I also went inside and took some pictures. My favorite of course is the glass. The inside isn’t close to being finished but evidently they do weddings there too.

The outside was pretty cool. I’m a bit scared of heights so I didn’t go to the top but I did walk around the outside on the second level.

After Bishop’s Castle we went to Lake Isabel. It’s a beautiful lake and since the water was a bit low we were able to walk all the way around it. These are just a few of the pictures we took, it’s a stunning place. I love the panoramic views.

I so love Westcliffe. Here is the picture of main street Saturday morning. It’s just such a special little town.
