It’s flower season in Colorado – I love driving down the road and seeing flowers everywhere! I love flowers and never get tired of making fused glass flower artwork. First, I made these little flower panels. They can be displayed in little stands like the middle picture, or they can be put in frames.
For the flowers pieces below, I added some frit to the background, I like the color it adds some dimension. I also included some of my pressed flowers. These are really pretty pieces.
If you look closely at these fused glass sconces, I made them with iridized glass and texture on the back. The flowers don’t have as much texture as I normally make them, but they are beautiful.
These fused glass flower waves are great too, the top one has a textured back and the bottom flower wave has color added to the background.
Don’t you just love mantle sconces – and yes, they can go anywhere not just on a mantle. Which one is your favorite? Do you like the sconces better or the waves?
BTW I went a bit crazy and made several other fused glass flower pieces. I’ll do posts on the other styles, but I wanted to give you a sneak peek.
