As many of those who follow me know my day job takes me away on business trips (or in Air Force terms – TDY) quite a bit. April was no exception, as I mentioned in my April newsletter I spent a few days in Montgomery. After Montgomery I went back to Rhode Island for a week. It was a busy week but I did have an afternoon off and I made the most of it.A few months ago I took a class (Landscape in Trees Diptych) from an amazing teacher and artist Alice Gebhart. Well Alice has a fabulous studio / Gallery (Heritage Art Gallery & Glass Studio) in East Greenwich not to far from Newport where I was working. When I got there Alice was actually teaching the same class that I took in Denver, so I was able to watch her demo. It was great having a mini refresher class.
I also got to walk around her gallery, it’s awesome. She has her glass work and her son’s paintings such an amazing gallery.
I really enjoyed her garden art. She had so many pretty pieces out in the yard.
Alice was so gracious and welcomed me and let me watch her class and introduced me to her adorable doggies.
I hope to take another class from her either this year or next year.
