My Mosaic Class with Cathy

I’ve taken several Glass Mosaic classes with Cathy. This one was interesting because it was a zoom class. I’ve taken a few fused glass zoom classes. I just love the interaction with other glass artists. Here are my mosaic aspen leaves. I really like them.

In addition to doing the mosaic I did a fused glass piece. The picture on the left is the leaf. The right side is after I fused it, I wish I would have fired it a bit lower but I’m not done with it yet.

With mosaics you typically grout them. Here is what my aspen looks like after grouting. I think it turned out pretty well.

I also finished my fused glass piece. I added some frit around it and for veins. I like it albeit I don’t think it looks much like a leaf. It almost looks like a tree. What do you think?

I like both, which is your favorite? I think there are definite pluses to mosaic, this is one of my mosaic fused glass mirrors.
