My Chosen Glass art for the Sangre De Cristo 3rd Street Gallery

Last month I visited the Sangre De Cristo 3rd Street Gallery in Westcliffe and told them about my art glass. I wasn’t able to make it in time for the September show, but they gave me the information to have my three of my glass art pieces for the October showing. Since my good friend Gina had two paintings in the August show, she helped me chose the pieces to submit. She’s also going to help me do the paperwork and is going to help me get ready for show. The Changing Seasons show is Oct 5–Nov 13 and the reception is Oct 7. I hope you can make the reception.

As I mentioned in August, I get to submit three pieces of art. My first one was an easy decision it’s one of my Fused Glass Aspens. I chose the fall to represent the title of the show – Changing Seasons. Plus, I chose the bear, I love my aspens with the animals, and I love bears.

I also wanted to submit one of my fused glass flowers, kind of from one season to the other. I had several to choose from. So, which flower did Gina choose?

Gina chose the red flower! I am also going to bring a couple more centers. Additionally, it can be hung or sit on a table as a center piece. In addition to 2 centers (which can be used as magnets when not in the flower), you can also put a candle in the middle.

My last piece is brand-new and a unique technique. I made several different versions and it was a tough choice. Can you guess which one I chose?

I wanted a bigger piece, so I chose between these two fabulous sculptural wall hangings. I really love them; I almost don’t want them to sell. The big one is meant to represent the night skies of Westcliffe; I love iridized glass!! The smaller piece is made of iridized, silver, and dichroic glass. It’s truly fantastic.

So, I’m sure you are wondering which one of the iridized pieces did I choose? Well to find out you’ll have to wait until the show. Here is the link to the 3rd Street Gallery Sangres Art Guild | Westcliffe, CO. Additionally the maps of where Westcliffe is and how to get to the gallery.
