I love learning. Recently my friend Lela and I took a wood and macrame class at AR workshop. It was my first time at one of these shops. We really had a great time. Lots of options. Of course the only thing I didn’t care for was Lela and I were far away from one another.
First we stained the wood, then primer, then we added a stencil and painted the wood shelf. I really liked the contrast of lilac with the dark stain. It was a lot of fun!
After we were done with the wood we started the macrame. It was interesting, I made macrame when I was really young. The instructor showed me two knots and it all came back. I really enjoyed it, especially being with my Lela.
In addition to Lela I got a chance to meet a couple other wonderful ladies. One believe it or not is a fused glass artist, Jen! How cool is that!
I like the wood but I think I’m going to put glass in it. Maybe I’ll even make more with my glass! Square seems to work well. If I just had a place to hang it. I’d really like to make more. What do y’all think about it? I think I’ll make an opaque glass bowl.
I can’t wait to take more classes with AR workshop! Of course they will include glass as well.
