Lighted Block Mosaic

I’ve taken several glass mosaic from a wonderful teacher here in Colorado Springs. Recently I took another mosaic class from Cathy, a lighted block mosaic. I’ve really grown to enjoy mosaics and I think the lighted block mosaic is my favorite.

I chose to make a winter scene instead of a Christmas scene so I can keep it up all year long.  The birds were the hardest to make, only because I didn’t use my grinder I just used my nippers.  I think I’ll also add some eyes and a beak as well. We’ll see.

Here is my glass mosaic before grouting.

I think I’m going to try to do something similar in fused glass as well.

Here is my glass mosaic after grouting.
