My Fresh From the Kiln for July is based on the review I wrote regarding Bullseye’s “Kilnforming With Rods” video. I’m not one to just like strips so I used a combination of some of the variations the video showed. I also like a more organic edge so I didn’t dam it completely. I must say I think it turned out really well. I did some coldworking, sandblasted the top, and fire polished. Then I slumped it in square mold – so it comes up on the sides but not in the middle. It can be a sushi dish, a center piece, or candles can be added to it. Basically, it can be used for anything you can imagine.
I hope you like it as much as I do.
