In March, I had the opportunity to visit Suffolk, Virginia for work—and one of the highlights of my trip was touring the incredible USS Wisconsin. What a fabulous ship! You might not know this, but the Wisconsin proudly served in three wars: World War II, the Korean War, and even the Iraq War. Isn’t that amazing? Standing on its massive deck, you can almost feel the echoes of history surrounding you. Here are a few photos from my visit—I hope they capture even a fraction of the awe I felt walking through this legendary battleship.⚓📸

What a spectacular ship! The sheer size and presence of the Wisconsin is something to behold. I especially loved seeing all the guns—such powerful reminders of the ship’s role in history. Ironically, several of those massive guns were removed during the Iraq War. As warfare evolved, so did the ship’s mission and technology. Still, standing next to those remaining turrets, it’s hard not to be in awe of the engineering and might this battleship once have carried into battle.

Here are some photos from inside the ship—offering a glimpse into the sleeping quarters, communications room, and galley. It’s incredible to imagine how the crew lived and worked aboard such a massive vessel with such narrow corridors. The spaces are tight, efficient, and packed with history. Every room feels like it holds a thousand untold stories from life at sea.

I absolutely loved walking all over this incredible ship—exploring the deck, admiring the massive guns, and even spotting the ship’s bell. It was such an unforgettable experience! I have to admit, though… my knees weren’t nearly as excited about the adventure as I was. 😅 I could barely move the next day! But honestly? Totally worth it.
And of course, I loved seeing the American flag flying proudly.
God Bless the United States of America!

The museum next door was… okay. I was really hoping for more detailed information about the Wisconsin itself. Sadly, one of the guides mentioned that many of the ship-related exhibits had been removed—and even thrown away. That was very disappointing to hear.
That said, I did appreciate the dedication to Navy personnel. It was a meaningful tribute, and a reminder of the service and sacrifice behind these historic ships.

I’m so honored to have served my country for 22 years in the Air Force. Visiting the Wisconsin reminded me of the strength, sacrifice, and spirit of our armed forces—past and present.
God Bless America’s military—both active duty and veterans. 💙
