As those who follow me know, I am a retired Air Force Veteran. I love the our National Anthem, the American flag, and of course America. So I thought I’d make pieces of fused glass artwork with my own screens (more to come in the July’s DyK) a few to celebrate the 4th of July. Here is the first one, it’s screen printed. I gave the screen print kind of a distressed look. I think it’s kind of cool.
I also made one with a flag, mountains, and deer. I love this one, it represents Colorado to me and of course the song America the Beautiful! I like the combination of glass on to wood. I love the saying Land of the Free, Because of the Brave – it’s so true. My screen printing of the words aren’t perfect but it’s not horrible, little bit of a learning curve screen printing on wood compared to glass. Thank you to all Veterans, both past and present.
Lastly I made one with luminescent glass, the screen print is actually in-between the glass. The others are on top of the glass.
Happy 4th of July to one and all. God Bless America, Land that I truly love.
