I mentioned in an earlier blog this month I went back to Rhode Island. I’ve been to Newport twice before an I wanted to go to Thames glass and do a quick glass blowing intro. The last time I did glass blowing it was in Oregon. I enjoyed it very much and wanted to do it again. In Oregon I made a garden glob.
George was my instructor and to be honest he did 99% of the work and I only did what I was told but it was still fun. If you go to Newport this is a fun thing to do. This time I got to make a pumpkin, obviously I love purple and my purple pumpkin is so beautiful.
I also got to make an oil lamp. Technically it’s not one of the things you can make but when I got in there I asked George an he graciously said yes.
Here are a couple of pictures of George. Since I was alone I didn’t get any pictures of me doing it but maybe next time. Hopefully we’ll go back to Newport next year. If I do I’ll probably go back to Thames Glass to make another blown glass piece.
