In October I took a pretty cool class at D&L called Glaskolbens. A Glaskolben is a tube of glass that you put frit in and then heat it and then blow into Christmas ornaments – basically round shapes! We used a tank and it’s a little like flameworking just less intense.
It was a lot of fun but mine where definitely not as round as Meredith’s.
I haven’t had a chance to make more since class but I do like the concept, even though mine weren’t as big or round. I actually like the fact that mine weren’t perfect or round. With practice I’m sure I’ll get better!
