Getting Ready for Woodland Park Arts Festival

I have my first Art show of the year on 6th & 7th August in Woodland Park. I’m excited, I love seeing my friends and longtime customers. As any of you know who come to visit me, I always give away presents for those of you who get my newsletter. I’m not 100% sure what I’ll give away this time, but I always give away a fused glass pendant.

I create Fused Glass artwork all year long, but I only have a few only shows a year so it’s very difficult for me to choose what to take. Just so you can see how difficult it is I thought I’d show you some pictures of some of my glass artwork. If you see something, you like let me know and I’ll bring it to the show. I love mantle sconces (I have several of my own) and here are some of my favorites. Which is your favorite?

The next art pieces I want to show you are my textures. I LOVE textured pieces and I have such a myriad of textured molds including Lady in the Woods, Greenman, Tree of Life, Dolphins, Butterflies, Dragonflies (BTW all of these are flat but the dolphin but all of them can be slumped into into sconces) as far as round molds I have Mermaids, Fairy, and of course the Sun (additionally, all of them can be hung instead of displayed in a stand if one prefers). The tulip is a texture but I put frit in to change the color. The last one is my Buddha, instead of in a stand like I normally display them I drilled holes so it could be hung.

I know what you are thinking, really Karen more art work. YES I love art pieces. and these are some of my favorites. I love mixing with wood and of course screen-printing.

Now for some functional pieces including photo stands, wine bottle holder, incense holder, stirrers, letter openers, night lights, mushroom night lights, candle votives, lanterns, magnets, spoon rests, tea caddies, soap dishes, dishes, platters, bowls, etc. I won’t be bringing everything but a variety of these items.

I’m also bringing various types of vases, votives, including recycled bottle vases.

Since it’s a summer show I’m bringing garden artwork, including garden stakes, plant hangers, garden décor, etc. I love my garden art.

Last but not least I wanted to show my fused glass flower artwork, these are relatively big so I am only taking 1, which is your favorite?

I’m sure you are wondering Karen what about jewelry – yes and I’ll be doing that this next weekend.
