Fused Glass Wine Stoppers, Wine Charms, & Wine Bottles
Since it’s always a good time for wine and parties I thought I’d do a blog about festive yet functional fused glass artwork, e.g., fused glass wine stoppers, wine charms, and wine bottle trays.
As you can tell I have a wide variety of fused glass wine stoppers, including oval and round wine stoppers. I have two metal types stainless steel and chrome. The stainless steel wine stoppers are either flat or round, these cost $10 more and can be left inside your wine bottle as long as you like. The Chrome stoppers (all shown) are for display and serving i.e., for multiple short term use not to exceed one week at a time. They are not long term storage, which can cause pitting and flaking of the plating due to acidic buildup in the wine from oxidation. Some may ask why I don’t make all of the wine stoppers stainless steel and the reason is cost vs need. Most people don’t leave their wine stoppers in the bottle that long so why pay the extra $10, albeit having the option is nice. I can also make custom fused glass wine stoppers with important names or dates.
The Fused Glass wine charms are for putting around your party goer’s wine glass so they don’t get mixed up. Additionally they make great gifts for your guests. When the party is over take the wine charm off the glass and give it to your guest it’s a perfect little gift that they can use as a fused glass pendant, zipper pull, key chain, or wine charm! If you have any questions about how to modify the fused glass wine charm let me know and I’d be happy to demonstrate. I’d be happy to custom make fused glass charms for your party.
Fused Glass Wine Bottle platters, I have a variety of molds to create wine bottle platters. The Blue one is more of a dish with curves on all sides so it’s perfect as a spoon rest, nut dish, dip dish, etc. The Flat one is more of a cheese platter (it has wine bottles embossed on to it). The clear ones are smaller and perfect for either spoon rests or tea bag holders (1 has a feather decal ant the other has butterflies). Additionally if there is a special bottle you’d like to have fused into one of these shapes let me know and I’d be happy to make one for you however, it will be the same cost as the bottles I fuse. Why, you may ask is that, because it takes at least two firings for the curved bottles and the takes my kiln about 16hrs per firing which means I don’t have anything else in the kiln. That being said if it’s a special bottle it’s a great way to display it.
In addition, I also have other recycled items such as night lights, business card holders, pendants, etc. If you’d like something created from a bottle e.g., bookmark, key chain, clock, please email me at elegantfusedglass@gmail.com
I hope you like the fused glass wine stoppers, wine charms, wine bottle trays, and other items. BTW if you’ve never seen my YouTube video about my recycled fused glass check it out.
If you would like any of these fused glass items please email me (elegantfusedglass@gmail.com) or I can create custom wine stoppers, wine charms, and wine bottle trays for you.
Keeping my kiln warm,
Karen
