Fused Glass Window Covers

My good friend, who loves to challenge me regarding glass, asked me if I could make fused glass window covers for her new house. We picked out the glass colors, we measured the windows, and I made some test pieces.

Here are some pictures of the fused glass covers in the kiln (top) and finished (bottom). They are huge. I was so happy with them. The colors represent white for the mountains, yellow for the sun, and blue for water. I could have used greens for trees, but we liked the blue.

Here is one in the window. Isn’t it beautiful and amazing? He was gluing one and it fell out. It actually put a dent in the chair when it fell. Sadly, instead of giving me all the pieces he threw it away. Remember never throw away art glass.

BTW here is the replacement piece. I made the blue bigger so it can be seen better from below.

I’m so freaking proud of them and I’m so happy that my friend trusted me to make something so special for her house. BTW she had so many pieces around the house, it makes me so happy when I see my artwork displayed or worn.
