Fused Glass pictures
I receive requests for custom fused glass pictures on a regular basis so I thought I’d explain the different types I create. There are two types of fused glass pictures to choose from: Sepia and Color.
You would send me a JPEG picture and I can create either a sepia version or a color version on pretty much anything.
The first is sepia – what I love about sepia is it can be fused to any size from a pendant to a sconce. I’ve created a fused glass sconce with a mom and daughter, ornament with a sonogram picture, a poker card guard, etc. Because it’s fused into the glass at 1400 degrees it won’t scratch off.
The other way to have a custom picture in glass is color decal. But it is NOT fused in it’s baked in. I do spray it with a sealant, but I recommend using the color decal on something that won’t get too much wear and tear for example a magnet or display.
