I just wanted to remind my followers that March is Women’s History Month. One of my favorite fused glass pendants to represent strong women is the tree in the shape of a woman. To me this decal stands for the strength that women have day in and day out. It also stands for mother earth. Since the theme for women’s history month this year is “Celebrating Women of Character, Courage, and Commitment” it’s a perfect symbol. Let me know if you would like a fused glass pendant or key chain with the strong woman decal. Remember the decals are fused on and will not scratch off.

In case you didn’t know according to Wikipedia, Women’s History Month is a worldwide declared annual month that highlights the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. Women’s History Month corresponds with International Women’s Day on March 8 and is celebrated in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia. In the United States, Women’s History Month roots began with the first International Women’s Day in 1911. In February of 1980 President Jimmy Carter issued a presidential proclamation declaring the week of March 8th,as National Women’s History Week. Then in 1987, Congress designated the month of March 1987 as Women’s History Month.

Some may wonder why we have women’s history month or black history month. To me each of these special month’s bring recognition of each group and their contributions to our country. Additionally, understanding our true American history will help us comprehend the need for equality under the law for all people.

We all know special strong women who inspire us and have contributed to our lives, remember to tell and show them just how extraordinary they are!

To all the strong women in my life.

BTW There are a few on my site, but if you would like one of these just email me

Keeping my kiln warm,
