This post are about some new fused glass ornaments I just created. The technique and decals came from a fellow artist and I love them. They were inspired by stained glass. These are 3 fused glass “stained glass inspired” ornaments that are very transparent. The first two have dichroic glass and the third one is iridized glass. I also added a 2021 charm to all of the ornaments. I also added a fused glass dot to two of them.
These 3 more fused glass ornaments are opaque vs the first 3 transparent ornaments, but the glass I used is so pretty. I added fused glass dots to all 3.
Here is one more fused glass ornament that isn’t quite done. I drilled a hole vs adding a bail. I like this one, the front is ridized and the back is pretty because you can see the iridized and the decal.
This one is one of my favorites because I used 2 colors, the left is the back and the right is the front. I think it turned out really nice.
Here is a shot of the first 6 finished fused glass ornaments. I’m curious which one is your favorite.

Hi Karen, I am not sure where I read this, but I thought the decals you used were from XpressionDecals. I recently bought some and tried them, but I am not getting them to look like yours. When I came back to look at yours, I am starting to wonder if the difference is that you are covering the entire piece of glass. I was only using them on part of the glass and then instead of the background of the decal fading away I can easily see where the decal is. Do you only use the decals when you cover the circles completely? And then also do you vent during your firing? One of the color decals I bought faded quite badly. Thanks!
