I love Murrine and Millefiori. In fact I buy it all the time from several different artists. Murrine is little pieces of glass that are cross-sections of cane that reveal images. According to Wikipedia, murrine “first appeared in the Middle East more than 4,000 years ago and was revived by Venetian glassmakers on Murano in the early 16th century”. Millefiori is a type of murrine and means a 1000 flowers. I hand cut hearts and added murrine and millefiori. I’ve left them as fused glass pocket hearts, but they can be made into pendants, magnets, etc.

I also made a few fused glass crosses, again hand cut, and added murrine and millefiori. I say hand cut because I made the base in a large ingot (casted into a shape suitable for further processing) and then I cut it up with my saw. It also means they aren’t perfect and are handmade.

I also made fused glass 4 snaps and 2 pendants. Aren’t they beautiful.

Which is your favorite?
