Fused Glass Mosaic Tiles is another of Tanya’s techniques she has on her fused glass website. I’ve never really done mosaics but I like this one. Tanya included 2 fused glass mosaic techniques in the one video.
First I made two sets of mosaic using light blue and a rose colored glass. In reality they could stand on their own.
But instead I cut them into squares and put together a new piece. I love it. So pretty but it does take a bit of glass.
The other technique was mosaic with powder printing. However, I didn’t put enough powder on it. So I tried again and still it wasn’t enough powder. I still think it’s pretty. I was using reactive glass so you can see a bit of the reactions.
Here are both pieces in the kiln getting slumped.
Here are the slumped pieces. They are amazing and turned out perfectly!!
BTW I liked the pieces so much that I added some dichroic and they are beautiful pendants. That’s the neat thing about fused glass, you can make dishes or jewelry using the same techniques. Pretty cool huh!
