One of my New Years resolutions was to use more of the glass I have on hand. So in this post I want to show you one of my favorite ways to use small pieces of glass. I made mini fused glass bowls. First I prepare my casting mold and add the glass. Below is the setup in the kiln.
Then I clean them up and refire to even them out and then I slump them. I used 4 different molds.
Here they are without the molds. I think they are so pretty and I love the organic edges and they have such depth. The first one is made of blues, the second set is purples, the third and fourth are combinations of various colors. They are all very pretty.
I really like them all, they are perfect size for rings or tea bags or a spoon rest. I think I’ll make some bigger ones too. I have two more that I’m going to press, I’ll show them when I finish them. Let me know what you think.
