For June I have been focusing my fused glass blogs on videos Tanya Veit teaches on her AAE Glass website in her Education center. So far I’ve covered several plates; the Glass Glo brick plate, Mosiac tile plate, and the fused glass quilt plate. For this blog I thought I’d cover her newest products Illusion transfers. The cool thing about Tanya is when she has a new product she doesn’t just do one project, she does several!
I like the illusion transfers but I must admit I’m struggling a bit with the schedules. There are several ways you can use them. First is on top of a fused glass cabochon. I like this way it’s pretty and relatively simple. These are some of my favorites. The key is not to use too dark of a glass.
The transfers can also be mixed with clear patterned dichroic. I like this version too, It reminds me of another technique she taught a few years ago but it’s pretty cool.
One technique I’m struggling with regarding the illusion transfers, is when it’s in-between glass. I’ll get it eventually, I think I need to lower my temps.
