Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day, so I’ve been making a lot of Fused Glass Hearts, this month. I’ve used different techniques to create my heart, this first group are quite large and are casted. They are a bit big for pendants but make great pocket hearts.
The next technique is a new (from Tabitha) and I have to admit I didn’t do all that great, but I learned a lot. I also had to do a lot of extra firings to fix them. I think they turned out pretty nicely.
I also made some fused glass hearts; these are all hand cut. This is my normal technique because I can cut them in any shape and size I want.
Here are some comparisons, you can see the casted are much bigger and thicker than the other techniques. The last picture is one of each of the techniques.
The hearts below are quite large, I put another heart so you can see the size difference. The ones on the bottom are a bit more fragile. I think I’ll probably frame all of the large hearts. When I decide how to display my big hearts, I’ll do another post.
I also made some fused glass crosses using the same techniques.
I am a strong supporter of our men and women in blue, so I made some hearts and crosses to show my support. They can be magnets or pocket hearts and crosses.
Obviously, I love America, so I made some red, white, and blue fused glass hearts. These hearts can be made into magnets, pendants, or pocket hearts.
Which is your favorite heart?
