For March I’m focusing on fused glass e-books from Helios studios. As I mentioned in my previous blogs, I’ll be focusing on 12 of my favorite e-books that I’ve purchased and love from them.
The fourth e-book I want to talk about is the fused glass his beautiful bowl backs e-book. Of course I changed it up quite a bit, I put it on the front of the bowl instead of the back of the bowl and instead of using a black base I used a clear base. The technique is called Terrazzo.
I’m not sure if you can tell just how beautiful this fused glass bowl is. I can’t wait to try new colors. It’s funny this technique was in the beautiful bowl backs albeit because of the glass I used it’s all the way through. Terrazzo was invented in Italy and used in marble floors.
I also made an embossed technique. It would also be considered kiln carving as well but this was in the beautiful bowl backs. I like this simple transparent blue and hearts I don’t think I’ll slump it. I think it would be a pretty simple art piece.
This is a great e-book, so many beautiful techniques that can be used on the backs of a fused glass piece or on the front.
