I love adding fused glass decals to my fused glass cabochons. Typically when I make cabochons I have a box that I put cabochons in that I think would look great with a decal. I then will sit down and look through my decals that I think match the cabochon. Here are a few that I’ve done recently. On the left side are some gold decals and on the right is some black decals.
Some of my favorite decals are from AAE glass. Both of the groups below are from AAE. I love the high fire decals that are a mix of gold and white or gold and black. The cabochons on the right are fired perfectly.
Of course the color decals are the trickiest. They fire best on a light glass but you also have to fire them just right to get the color not to fade.
Sometimes I know instantly what something will be pendant, ornament, poker guard, night light, etc., but sometime I don’t know until I have the finding and then it comes to me. I can’t wait to see what these cabochons will become.
