Fused Glass Buddha

I’ve blogged about my fused glass “Buddha’s” (Kwan Yin) several times, because I like them so much. I make my Buddha’s with ceramic molds by Laurie Spray. She’s an amazing artist and I’ve blogged about her several times as well.

In addition to the Buddha molds, Laurie’s made several of my favorite molds. When I took a class from Laurie Spray in Oct I got two new Buddha molds. I love them, aren’t they magnificent?

This first one is the more traditional image of Buddha. It’s a iridized red and 12×15. I still have to make hangers for the back because it’s so big it’s difficult to find a stand for it. I love texture molds because you can make them in any color you want.

The second one I like because it kind of reminds me of a Native American vs Buddha. I love how unique it is. This is not the best picture. Plus next time I think I’ll hold it at the top temperature a bit longer to pick up more of the texture. It’s so difficult to photograph. This one is huge 9×17 so it will be hung.

So my question for you is which one is your favorite “Buddha”?

Do you like the more traditional image, or do you like the tall one, or do you like Kwan Yin.

I’m not sure which one is my favorite, I like them all because they are so different. I look forward to your comments.
