Fused Glass Bookends

One of my goals this year is to use products that I have on hand. The one I decided to use this month is my wood bookends. So I decided to use my luminescent glass and textured molds. The first one is a beautiful glass and I used my butterfly texture. The glass is opalescent vs transparent but I think they turned out beautifully.

I also made dragonflies, now this glass is a dark transparent so you can see a bit of the dragonflies through the glass. It’s also purple glass. In case you weren’t aware purple, pink, and red glasses are expensive because they are made with a bit of gold.

Speaking of gold I also made butterflies with this lovely amber / gold glass. It’s much more transparent and I think a lovely set of bookends.

This set is an iridized bluish purple one side is of dolphins and the other side is of a light house. The glass is a bit different shades, but compliment one another.

This set is the green man and the lady in the woods. He has a bit more iridized and she has a bit more definition. Both are very transparent so they can be used either way.

I’m curious which one is your favorite set? I ask because I like them all!

Another question for you, is there something you’d like me to make from glass as a bookend? I was thinking about my granddaughter. I think I’ll make a set with her lovely face on them, to show I can make custom bookends as well.
