Several years ago, I took a fused glass bird class from my first Fused Glass instructor, Coral – Full Spectrum in Colorado Springs. Last month when Sharon & Brian from Tulip Gifts and Cards in Denver came over to get some fused glass artwork for their store, they were in my inspiration room and asked me if I could make a few of them for their store. My inspiration / finishing room has various pieces I love and inspire me. Here is a picture of the bird panel I made in class and my inspiration room.
So, I decided to make some fused glass bird’s sconces / waves. I didn’t put as many birds on my pieces and I changed them up a bit. Here are the fused glass art pieces I made. Aren’t they adorable? The first one is a wave and stands well on it’s own.
For the ones below I made them into mantel sconces, I am really proud of them. I love the birds they are so cute.
I actually have some left over birds. I’m thinking about making them into Garden Stakes? What do you think?
This was a lot of fun! I which bird is your favorite? I think I’ll try some different shapes as well.
