I love this textured mold. First I am a Florida girl so I grew up around water. We had a canal right by my house and lakes all around and of course the ocean not far away.
Anyway I’ve had this mold for a couple of months. I hand laid the colors in, in case you were curious it takes at least an hour or two to lay in the color. Then I added the glass and fired it. It was a bit transparent so I wasn’t sure what I should do with it. I thought about a mantel sconce but it was a bit too big. But I have this wonderful organic mold to slump it into so I tried it and I LOVE it. In addition to the amazing texture and the perfect slump I add have a couple of fused glass sea pieces including a shell, seahorse, and star fish. I haven’t fused them because they are different COEs but I like just having them sit in there. If someone wanted I could easily silicone either of the casted pieces (shell, seahorse, or star fish) in to the bottom of the bowl. I just wish you could see this piece. It’s really beautiful. I think I’ll be doing the mold again soon.
