Fall and Stars in Westcliffe

As y’all know I love the flowers in Westcliffe and I post pictures of flowers all the time. Here are some I posted last month.

Not detracting from Colorado, Flowers, or Spring, I love Colorado in the Fall. We came to Westcliffe and took a beautiful drive to see the beautiful fall colors. The hills and mountains were full of color.

Here a some beautiful aspen groves, so stunning. My goodness it just takes my breath away.

We also drove down a road that we did a few months ago. I just don’t get tired of Westcliffe or Colorado Fall colors!

In addition, to the fall colors I wanted to show you something we did in July. I love the dark skies of Westcliffe and the milky way, so I hired a professional photographer to take pictures of the milky way with our little house. He came out last year to see when was the best month to capture the Milky Way (1st Picture) then he took 2 pictures (the milky way & our little house with the Milky Way).

Obviously I wanted them framed and I wanted 3 pictures over our bed so I bought one of his other prints of the Milky Way over Westcliffe. Aren’t they all stunning! The middle picture is from Fracture (on glass) and the other 2 I framed myself.

Scott is a fabulous photographer and sells his photos in Westcliffe and online so check him out. He even had some of his most popular photos made into post cards. So I bought them and then printed two 5×7 of the pictures he did for us and then framed them too. Aren’t they amazing!!! I so love the Milky Way.

Ok I want to make it clear these are NOT my pictures (they are from Facebook), but I couldn’t help but post them. The aurora borealis was seen all over Colorado Thursday and here are some from Westcliffe. I am so freaking bummed I wasn’t able to see them. What makes it worse is we drove up and were in Westcliffe, however it was cloudy so I didn’t think they’d be out (you can’t see them with the naked eye) so I just went to bed. I so hope I’ll be able to see them eventually and I wish I had a better camera; I just have an iPhone, so chances are I wouldn’t have been able to capture them even if I did see them.

A few months ago I made a Fused glass art piece to show in the Westcliffe gallery. Well I decided to keep it and it’s now hanging in our little home in Westcliffe. To me represents the dark skies and fall of Westcliffe!

It’s a beautiful morning to be in Westcliffe!
