Drive Up to San Francisco and Bullseye

After my glass class with Laurie I decided to drive the scenic route, Hwy 1, to the bullseye resource center near San Francisco.

What a beautiful drive. It was a bit foggy in places, but still a lovely drive.  I really liked the lighthouse, so majestic. I may have to try to make a fuse glass piece with a lighthouse. I like the cliff. I didn’t go all the way up but I still love it.

Everywhere I go I love to visit glass. While in San Francisco I always visit the bullseye resource center in Emeryville.

They always have a small gallery with some amazing glass art. This time they had Pate de Vere. I’ve only done Pate de Vere, below is the piece I made several years ago. I’d like to do again one day. It’s pretty time consuming and very delicate, but it’s also beautiful.

Of course my 1 bowl doesn’t compare to this artist. Tali is an amazing artist and I’ve never seen anything quite like it. Absolutely stunning, all Pate de Vere glass.

I also enjoyed walking around the store. I never get tired of seeing glass, as art and in its base form.

The piece below was as soon as you walk in the door. What a fantastic glass piece. LOVE it!! It was huge but what’s really impressive are the close ups. Love the detail!
