One of my favorite things to do is to make custom silk screens so I can make special presents for people. Last year I made presents for my co-workers and this year is no exception. In fact, I think I went a bit crazy. First, I made little magnets for them (actually it’s for our board). The black ones are for our government members, blue is for our military, and of course the ivory is for the contractors (including me). The two by themselves our two of our contractors that work from home. For the most part I thought of each person and made a magnet that reflects each one of them. For privacy I don’t want to go into detail, but I really like them. BTW silk screening on tiny pieces of glass is not easy.
Second, I made custom silk screens with little saying that fit each person. I screened printed them on to cups and then I put tea and coffee inside the cups. I made fused glass stirrers as well for each person. Here are the presents I made for each of my fellow contractors.
I also made a cup, magnet, and stirrer for me. I love it. I like that I can screen print on glass and ceramic!
The ones below are extra and most have small issues, but I don’t care they can be used as pen holders, water for painting or holders for my stirrers or plant holders in my booth.
In case you are curious this is how I screen printed on cups.
Additionally, I like to show you some of the screens that were ruined. I show you this so you can see it’s not easy.
I hope my co-workers know how much work went into these pieces. It took hours to make the screens, put them on the cups, and magnets; needless to say the thought I put into which saying or picture fit each person.
I love making custom pieces. If you’d like something custom create, please let me know and I’d love to create something special for you. I can also use the screens above to put on a cup for you.
