I love making fused glass picture frames. Typically, I’ve made fused glass photo stands like the ones below, simple but elegant and perfect for snapshots.
I also have made several picture frames like the below. They are open on the front and closed on the back. They can go in stands like I’ve shown below, or I can put a hanger on them, and they can hang perfectly.
Recently I was asked to make a frame for a wedding invitation. However, the invitation had beautiful pictures of the lovely couple on both sides, and I didn’t want to cover up either side of the invitation. So, I made the frame with opening on both sides! So now the frame is reversible and both sides of the invitation can be shown off. The top row is the back. I love the hangers I added and of course the iridescence of the glass. The bottom row is the front and I added little heart murine. BTW I added a clear piece of glass to the front side.
When she came to pick it up, she was very happy with the custom fused glass frame. I also gave her a fused glass drink stirrer as her present for purchasing the frame. This was a challenge, but I enjoyed making it. I hope to make more in this style.
