This month, I received an order for 75 black amenity fused glass dishes. I love receiving custom production orders like these, especially for hotels and restaurants. But, believe it or not, black dishes can be a bit challenging. One time, when I made them, two dishes ended up with my fingerprints fused into the center! This time, two of them weren’t cleaned properly, leaving smudges in the middle.
As always, each fused glass dish is crafted using two pieces of glass to ensure strength and durability. After carefully cutting the glass, I wash each piece thoroughly before assembling them in the kiln for a full fuse. Once they’ve been fully fused, I wash them again to remove any residue, place them on molds, and then slump them into the final shape of a soap dish.

Below are pictures of the finished fused glass amenity dishes. They turned out great and are perfect for adding a touch of elegance to a beautiful hotel room.

As always, I also sent them a fused glass gift. Because my work business trip caused a slight delay, these took a bit longer to make, so I decided to send two gifts instead of one. I really like both dishes, and I couldn’t choose between them, so I thought, why not send both? They each have their own charm, and I thought they’d be a nice touch for my customer.
