A few blogs ago I talked about my commercial fused glass soap dishes. The one is for a hotel in California. I made 200 fused glass soap dishes. It was a lot of work. This is tough glass so it’s not your typical fusing schedule or cutting.
First I cut the glass into the size requested.
Then I file the edges either with hand pads or with a wetbelt sander.
Then I wash them then fuse them the first time. Each full fuse took 24-36 hrs.
Then I fire them again into a slumping mold. Each slumping firing took 24-36 hrs.
Then I clean them and pack them. It took 4 weeks and 4 boxes. It’s a lot of work but it’s rewarding having my fused glass in hotels and restaurants.
