July’s Fused Glass Newsletter’s focus is in preparation for my glass shows. My first show is in August in Woodland Park. If there is something you’d like me to bring to my Shows or to put on my websites please let me know.
So for this blog I thought I’d show off some of my new fused glass Dogs and Cats. These were so much fun. I like them because they can be so much. I can make them into snaps or magnets or pendants or brooches or something else. Basically because it has a flat back I can glue them onto anything, even poker guard.
The picture below is all the ones I made so far. It’s a mixture of Cats and Dogs but I’m planning on making some other animals too. Let me know if you have some you want me to make.
I can make just faces or entire bodies
The interesting thing is when they go in the kiln the eyes and noses can jump around and there’s not a lot you can do about it. Most of them I left a lot of texture in the pieces, albeit sometimes I fuse them flat.
