Last month I wrote a post about a custom fused glass pyramid I made for my friend of mine. It was beautiful and I enjoyed the challenges involved in making the pyramid.
Since I enjoyed making the pyramid I decided to create a couple casted fused glass hearts. I think they are pretty and fun and kind of a challenge to make. They are also a bit heavy and thick. The heart below is blue, clear, and dicrohic glass. It turned out great. I fire polished it but because I didn’t grind or lap it first the bottom is not completely clear. Also by fire polishing it while it’s face down so the top flatten a bit, but I still like it. I’m a big fan of texture so to me, the heart is beautiful on both sides.
The next heart is red it’s shorter but still beautiful. Funny thing is when I fused it there was a tiny hole in the top of it so I fused a red cubic zirconia into the hole and it looks perfect. Because the zirconia I didn’t fire polish it so the bottom is just a bit more textured and matte finished than the blue one. I’m curious what y’all think of my fused glass hearts.
Here they are side by side, aren’t they beautiful.
So which is your favorite? One of the hearts, the triangle or the half globe? I must admit I like them all!
