April New Fused Glass Mold – Tree of Life
In keeping with my new rule of writing a blog about my molds I picked up a great mold the other day – the Tree of Life bottle slumper mold. Slumping is basically giving shape to a piece of glass. But this mold is a little different in the since that I’m not just taking it to a slump temperature (1225) because I want to pick up the tree of life design I fired it much (higher approx 1480). Plus with bottles they take a little higher temperature to slump down.
The fused glass tree of life bottles are beautiful and can be used as a spoon rest or as a candy dish or olive dish or pretty much anything you can think of.
I’ve also made several other slumped bottles with amazing textures as well.
