I love all my fused glass pieces. Each piece I make is special and has a special place in my heart. But every now and then there is an extra special piece.
I made such a piece and at the Holly Berry Art Show it went to a good home. So much work went into this piece and the price reflected it. In this day in age of buying production work some people don’t see the value of true art. But some special people do.
I met some wonderful people at Holly Berry Art Show a few bought my beautiful aspens, jewelry, and other art pieces. Albeit the special piece I’m talking about today is my koi. I created the koi by building them up with frit, powder, fine, and even medium. Then I created the bowl, adding texture to the bottom, bubbles around the edge and of course the koi in the middle. Numerous firings were used to create this unique fused glass piece when I explained the process they understood the beauty, workmanship, and value of it. They purchased it for a very special person in Hawaii, who loves koi.
