Fresh From the Kiln:

I just love this piece, problem is I like it so much I don't know what to do with it. It has so much reaction and texture.  I could make it into a bowl, or I could leave it as a sculpture because it's beautiful on both side.  I'm curious, 1st do you like it and 2nd what would you prefer.

New Fused glass mold for March

New Fused glass mold for March

This nano bead mold is kind of cool. It makes14 beads at once - 6 round beads, 6 square beads and 2 small beads. I made 2 sets. I need to remember to add a bit more glass. Here are the glass beads I made with the mold I stacked the beads onto the donuts. I'm not sure if I'll …

I've been making fused glass poker guards for a very long time. My husband is a big poker player and wanted me to make one for him (now he has several). Anyway I had some big pieces so I thought they'd make great poker guards. Aren't they pretty. If you aren't into poker, these fused glass pieces can also be …Read more.

My Trip to London - Part 2

In my last blog I wrote about my trip to London and all the amazing glass I was able to see while I was in there. In addition to working and seeing glass I also got to do a bit of sightseeing. First me and my co-worker took a boat down the Thames river to Greenwich. Me on the Boat …Read more.

My Trip to London - Part 1 Glass

My Trip to London - Part 1 Glass

This month I was able to go to London for work. Yes I am very lucky to have a job that allows me to travel. Anytime I travel if I have the opportunity I always try to look at glass. One of my friends suggested I go to the Vessel Gallery while I was in London. I did and I'm …Read more.

Spring - Fused Glass

Spring - Fused Glass

I'm so ready for spring. We just had a crazy blizzard. So much snow. Here are a few fused glass pieces, showing I'm so ready for spring. These four fused glass spring tiles can be either night lights, sun-catchers, or candle shields (picture on the right) This is another fused glass candle shield. I think they are so much fun …Read more.

Below is Cathy's post from the class. As you can see everyone did a fabulous job. What a great group of …Read more.

Fused Glass Pocket Crosses

Fused Glass Pocket Crosses

A few months back I made some fused glass pocket crosses. I really like them so I made some more aren't they beautiful? I thought a wonderful way to present the pocket cross is as a card. This way they make an even better gift. If you prefer a fused glass pendant I can easily make them into pendants verses …

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to include.

This is a pretty special DYK. I have a store in Tulip that carries my Fused Glass Artwork but I didn't have a place in Colorado Springs; until now.  The store is called The Flipping Peddler and it's located on Academy right before Austin Bluff heading north by the Harmony Bowl. It has has over 100 vendor spots; with a mixture of handmade, vintage, and store items. Gary and Todd the owners are awesome, it's just now opening but I'm excited.

The fun part is they are letting me come and talk about my glass when I can. If you would like an email letting you know what day I'll be there please email me (elegantfusedglass@gmail.com).  They also agreed to let me bring some of my smaller fused glass e.g., jewelry, snaps, nail files whatever ya'll want me to bring. The key is if you want to buy something it must go through them.

Another great piece of news it they will let me do a coupon for my Newsletter customers, all you have to do is show them this coupon.

Below are some pictures of my fused glass art that I am displaying/selling there. If you want to see something else let me know. One of the things I love about this store is I can change things out anytime I want. I hope the store does well, I have so many ideas. I'd also love to hear your ideas.

So here is my little booth. It's a 5x10 in the back of the store by the window. I love how the sun comes in and hits my glass.  I bought all the displays from marketplace and sears liquidation. I cut the top, middle, and bottom glass - it's a beautiful gray .

BTW I cut the bottom glass for this baker's and then hand worked it to smooth the edges. It's such a pretty peach glass.

These two shelves were missing 1 shelf each so I hand cut the glass for them as well. I love how much clearer it is than the plexiglass. Eventually I would like to cut the rest of the glass but it's very time consuming. This is the back view of the shelves. I like how you can see them from all angles.

---

I have almost 60 pieces of fused glass for sale. Obviously I can't show them all but I wanted to show a few of them close up. First some new fused glass sculptures.

---

These floral sconces are brand new and beautiful the back is iridized and I fused vitrigraph that I pulled.

---

I also have several bowls and platters. .

This is a beautiful screen melt. Love it.

---

I also have several vases including handkerchief, drop, and a huge drape.

---

Of course I also had to include some smaller glass pieces. Love this piece, it can be used as a teabag caddy, spoon-rest, for change, rings, pretty much anything you can think of. I made rectangled pieces and square pieces.

Fused Glass Decals

I also have 9 night lights here are 3 of them. Ya'll know how much I love my nightlights.
