During my show at the Folk Art Festival at Rock Ledge Ranch, earlier this month, my customers asked me to list the shows I'm participating in for the rest of the year.

Actually I only have 3 more shows this year. So hear they are: Liberty (Nov 10th), Rampart (Nov 17th), and Doherty (Dec 1-2).  Below are the particulars for each show.

Liberty High School Craft & Gift Fair

Saturday 10 Nov, 9a ‑ 4pm

8720 Scarborough Drive, Colorado Springs

FREE Admission & FREE Parking

Liberty is a nice show however, it's only 1 day so please keep that in mind. This is a picture from last year's booth at Liberty, of course the majority of the big art pieces have gone to good homes.

This is it's Liberty's 29th year and it has over 160 Crafters & Vendors, all proceeds benefit teacher & student activities.

Rampart Craft Bazaar - Saturday,  17 Nov, 9 am – 4 pm

8250 Lexington Drive, Colorado Springs

FREE Admission & FREE Parking

Rampart is a nice show as well. I think this is a picture of my booth at Rampart last year. If I'm not mistaken I'm going to have a bigger booth this year. Again the majority of the big art pieces have gone to good homes. Again it's just 1 day so plan to be there on Saturday.

The Rampart Craft Bazaar is the major fundraiser for the RPO. The money raised is given out as grants to teachers. Their craft bazaar is well know throughout the community and is eagerly anticipated.

Doherty High School - Saturday & Sunday, 1-2 Dec

4515 Barnes Road, Colorado Springs

FREE Admission & FREE Parking

My last show of the season is at Doherty High school.   What I love about Doherty's fair is it's 2 days, it's so difficult to set up and tear down in 1 day. Additionally, because it's my last show of the season last year I gave away fused glass Christmas pendants last year. I haven't decided if I will give away fused glass pendants or something else. I give away about 20 a show so I have to keep that in mind. So we'll see.

Since 1976, the Doherty High School instrumental music department has hosted it’s annual holiday craft fair. It is a fun, family oriented event featuring vendors offering hand made crafts. The fair also features a silent auction each year, and offers full concessions and a bake sale. The proceeds of the event help to fund various activities and help to purchase much needed equipment for the program.

Fresh From the Kiln:

This is a new fused glass dish and it's just beautiful. I really love this glass and I added vitrigraph to it as well. Wait until you see it, the picture just does not do it justice.

Fused Glass Bottles - Cheese Plates

Fused Glass Bottles - Cheese Plates

Recently I had a commercial order for green glass bottle cheese plates. I love that a nice restaurant sees the value in recycle bottles and how great they are. I made 12 of them for the order, these are huge plates.   Again I so appreciate my commercial orders for hotels and restaurants. If you would …Read more.

Getting Ready for Halloween

Getting Ready for Halloween

With my Fall / Christmas shows coming up I thought I'd make some holiday fused glass pieces.  Starting with Halloween. This is my skull snap. My little ghost was such a cutie. I need to make another one because he's so sweet and now has a new home.   I also have my pumpkin night light.  …Read more.

Guess who came to Rock Ledge Ranch

Guess who came to Rock Ledge Ranch

Guess who came to Rock Ledge Ranch just to see me? My good friend Melinda.    It was so cool, I just left my booth to walk around the show and I turn the corner and was like. OMG I know you and we hugged and I brought her to my booth, introduced her to my …Read more.

BTW I highlighted this fused glass bowl in August's DYK, and at Rock Ledge Ranch it found it's permanent home. The only problem is I couldn't remember the name of the technique, so I thought I'd post it again so I could let her know.  The fused glass technique used is called terrazzo. I think it's pretty cool, but not the easiest to make. So much prettier in person and very heavy.

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to include.

Just like August, September was a crazy month for me and wanted to mention some major highlights.

---

First a couple of corrections.

One I had a business trip to DC (Pentagon) and I said "I didn't do much but work" of course I meant glass work. Business wise I was extremely busy. Silly me.

Second, when I was talking about Craig I must have gotten excited because I said "fight of the monarch" I meant "Flight of the Monarch"

His work just blows me away!

In July I mentioned I did some custom fused glass flowers for a friend of mine. This month I went to her house and we looked at which of the flowers would work best for her space.

Here are the fused glass flowers on the right side of the window. Such a beautiful space and it's so nice to see my artwork hanging in this lovely house.

These are the fused glass flowers on the left side of the window. The pictures do not do the pieces justice.

---

In addition to the pieces showcased in the blogs above my husband, daughter and I went to Breckenridge. We haven't been to the mountains in a while and I just love it. First the drive was beautiful. Again the pictures don't do it justice.

---

While we were in Breckenridge, "Octoberfest" was happening. However, I've been to Octoberfest in Munich Germany and to be honest, not so much. But we did have a weiss brat and had a bit of fun.  One thing I thought was funny was in Munich when me and my friends went (in our 20s) we rented a van (and driver) and partied until 2 or 3 am and then slept on the way home. This "Octoberfest" closed at 6pm. Anyway I digress, I just thought it was funny.

---

I just love the mountains. So beautiful.

I was also drawn to the Aspens, big surprise!

We also walked around the river walk. Such a Lovely place.

---

The other thing I noticed was I really drawn to the flowers. I just love them. I believe I owe my renewed love of flowers to the class I took with Craig. I just so enjoyed his love of flowers that it made me look at them differently.

These are just two pictures I took of 20. Yep I'm looking at flowers with a new eye.

---

The place we stayed had beautiful outdoor pools and hot tubs. Such a fabulously relaxing place.

We actually relaxed quite a bit and I got to do something I never have the time to do and that is just stare up at the clouds. It was such a nice time.

---

Me and my baby girl. It was great having her with me but she was pretty busy doing her own thing. The joys of having a 19 year old I guess.

Of course my amazing daughter and handsome husband. As you can see she was focused on her game.

---

We really had a great time and can't wait to go back to Breckenridge. BTW I didn't find a lot of glass but there were a few pieces. I think these are blown glass vs fused but I love all glass!

---

BTW I'm on another business trip. Want to guess where? This is the view from my window.

---

I know kind of an odd DYK but it's so difficult when I've been gone so much of the month. If you have something you'd like me to discuss in a DYK please email me.
