Fresh From the Kiln:

This is a new type of fused glass project for me. I fused the little dots then I shaped them into a heart and fused them on top of a clear piece of glass. Then I put it into a deep frame and put Japanese paper behind the glass and put the backing back on. I like this process and can't wait to make more of this type of pieces.

Happy 2018!

Happy New Year!  Every year I do a review of my glass activities. 2017 was a great year for me professionally, family, and in glass. I added more responsibilities at work and I love it. As far as my family life; my daughter graduated High School and started college, and of course my son told …Read more.

Vitrigraph and Cane

Vitrigraph and Cane

Last year I took a class with Laurie Spray on cane's and vitrigraph. I've used some of the blue cane in several pieces but I wanted to use some of the orange cane I made in actual fused glass pieces. I made 3 small dishes. each one is very beautiful.         I …Read more.

Refused Pendants

Refused Pendants

While I was making my vitrigraph pieces I came across some glass that I wanted to refuse. Some were donut pendants that I found too large. So I decided to cut them down.  I really like them now. They were casted fused glass donuts and I cut off the sides, eventually I plan on making the sides into earrings but …Read more.

While in Emeryville, Bullseye

While I was in Emeryville visiting my Son, Alyssa, and brand new baby girl. I got a chance to go to the bullseye resource center. One of the things I love about bullseye is they show artists work. This time they showed, 3 fused glass artists.  The first was Susan Martin - her pieces were amazing and so different.   …Read more.

Fused Glass and Concrete

Fused Glass and Concrete

Everything I do involves glass. Recently I took two webinars about concrete jewelry (Curious Mondo). They actually used different concrete. One is more concrete looking grey speckled and one is white. Of course when I use another media it all revolves around how I can use it with glass. The first 4 I made had a bit more water than …Read more.

Trip to Rhode Island

Trip to Rhode Island

I thought I'd post some pictures from my latest business trip to Rhode Island. I'm sure you will wonder why what does it have to do with glass?  Well I'll tell you, we stayed at the Marriott in Newport, Rhode Island and as soon as I walked in there was an amazing chandler. It was recycled glass, it was decanters …Read more.

Fused Glass Pocket Crosses

Fused Glass Pocket Crosses

During one of my shows last year I was asked if I could make pocket crosses. I wasn't sure what she mean and she explained they are just to keep them in your pocket without a bail. It reminded me of worry stones. When I was stationed in Turkey, worry stones were very common. In fact I've made a few …Read more.

Fused Glass Mirror

Fused Glass Mirror

One of the things I've always wanted to make since I started working with fused glass is mirrors. I've always liked mirrors and to add glass to them just makes them even more beautiful. This first one is a beveled mirror and I used silicon to glue fused glass pebbles around the outside of the mirror. I haven't put a …Read more.

Did you know ...

This section is used to answer any questions you may have or to pass on tidbits of information that add value and enhance knowledge regarding fused glass, metals, or jewelry in general. Let me know if you have anything you'd like me to include.

This "Did you Know" is about Fused Glass for Valentine's day. There's so many options of fused glass for Valentine's Day gifts. This is a fraction of the possibilities and of course you can change the color and shape glass which provides even more options. Additionally, a few years ago I made a video showing some ideas for valentine's day. Here is my YouTube video for Valentine’s Day Gifts.

---

When most people think of Valentine's day is jewelry. I have several types of fused glass jewelry perfect for Valentine's day. First there are several options for decals, that can be put on any type of glass.

I can make fused glass dog tag type glass pendants with love embossed on the backside.

I have several holey type fused glass pendants; Including keys.

Several type of fused glass heart pendants. These casted pendants can be made into any color.

These are screen melt hearts that are really amazing and again can be made into any color.

Of course I can make dichroic heart pendants as well.

---

Besides fused glass pendants. I can also make earrings (post, dangle, snap, and even clip).  I have so many options for earrings and bracelets.

---

I have created some amazing fused glass hearts. Now these are larger and real statement pieces. Perfect for center pieces.

These are confetti fused glass heart dishes. Again they can be made in any color.

This a beautiful pink fused glass heart, it may be one of my favorites I've made.

---

In addition to fused glass heart plates, there are other little dishes that are perfect for valentine's day. These are perfect soap dishes, tea bag dishes, spoon rests, ring dish, trinket dishes, etc.

These two are 4x4 and perfect for trinkets, jewelry, etc. This one is made with iridized glass and tiny little white glass beads in the shape of a heart.

This one has fusible paper in side, which means I can put any type of design inside.

This one is a powder print. I made a couple different types of these.

---

I know what you'r thinking that all of this is for women. Nope, fused glass is for men too not just key chains (all pendants can be made into key chains), tie tacks, cuff links, etc. But you can also give poker guards as valentine's day presents.

These both involve hearts, but any poker guard is a perfect gift for any person who likes poker.

---

These pieces are beautiful and can be made into a pendant or poker guard or pocket glass. Kind of like my pocket crosses above or like a worry stone.

I love my fused glass bears. They are perfect pendants or magnets or anything you want to make it into.

---

I hope you like seeing the various types of fused glass valentine's day gifts. Don't forget you can also customize fused glass with your photos that make perfect presents as well. These pictures just show a sample of what I can make, I hope you all enjoy my creations.
